Description:
This research project aims for the effect of cover spalling and buckling of bars into the safety index of RC columns made of high-strength material. Reliability
analysis will be carried out by using series of Monte-Carlo simulations. For that purpose, ITS-RCCAD computer program will be extended for reliability analysis.
The sectional capacity of the RC columns is estimated using both the Fiber-Based Method (FBM) and 2D Sectional Non-Linear Finite Element Method (2D-SNLFEM). For
FBM, empirical model of Attard-Setunge and Samani-Attard are used while for 2D-SNLFEM, Piscesa et. al. plasticity model is used. Both concentric and eccentric loading
condition are investigated and randomly generated.
