[01] Non-Linear Analysis of Composite Structures under Concentric Loading

Description:
This research project is dedicated to the nonlinear analysis of composite structures under concentric loading. Only monotonic loading is considered. The nonlinear analysis are carried out using 3D-NLFEA and Piscesa et. al. plasticity model is used as the concrete constitutive model. In some types of composite structures, nonlinear buckling analysis, contact problems and large deformation may need to be considered in the analysis. Once detailed analysis using 3D-NLFEA is finish, a simplified fiber-based model and/or 2D sectional non-linear finite element analysis using ITS-RCCAD will be carried out for design purposes.

- [01-A2] Composite behavior of RC columns with enclosed steel I profile. [using ITS-RCCAD] Allocation: One undergraduate students with strong knowledge in solid mechanics and Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) software. [Status: Open]
- Note: One master student can take both the [01-A1] and [01-A2] research projects for his/her master thesis.
